Harwood Park

Located in the Harwood Historic District within the new East Quarter neighborhood, this park will be a top destination for residents and visitors.

Harwood Park is the final of the four Priority Parks that Downtown Dallas Parks Conservancy is building in partnership with the Dallas Park & Recreation Department. The park broke ground in late 2021, and the park is estimated to open in 2023.

The park site was a collection of surface parking lots and vacant buildings in a historic district. Soon it will be a nearly 4-acre park with a variety of park features including a unique kids playscape, interactive splash pad, a multi-function sport court, dog park, and a striking gold ring arbor at the Harwood and Jackson Street entrance.

One block of Wood Street is closing to create a contiguous park. The roadway will be replaced with a pedestrian promenade and bioswale that runs through the center of the park from Harwood Street to Pearl Street.
