Inspired by the Texas prairie, Civic Garden showcases native plants that thrive in North Texas conditions, supporting pollinators and birds while creating a resilient green space in the heart of Downtown.
Civic Garden’s native and adaptive landscape provides more than beauty. The diverse plantings support pollinators and birds while helping reduce the effects of extreme urban heat. According to a Downtown Dallas Parks Conservancy impact study, Civic Garden is on average 13.1 degrees cooler than adjacent sites in the morning and 6.6 degrees cooler in the afternoon.
At the center of the park, an interactive fountain offers a playful gathering space and a welcome respite during Dallas summers. Coming in summer 2026, a new community-supported dog park will expand the park’s amenities giving neighbors and their furry friends a place to play and connect.
